You will often see references to “nodes” in descriptions of mind maps, concept maps and other types of information map.
These will be the meat of the map. Nodes may be boxes with a word or phrase in them, representing a topic, an idea, an action or a concept. They may also be a word or phrase running along a line.
Linking phrases describe the relationships between nodes in concept maps, and these are important, but they are subordinate to the concepts themselves, that occupy the nodes.
