There are many ways of making a mind map on a computer. Most involve drawing on the screen in some way with a mouse. Some only offer the option to generate maps from text. Many mind map software packages support generating maps from structured text as well as drawing.
This is a placeholder for an analysis of possibilities, where those interested in the subject can comment and the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches. I shall be adding to it myself soon.
