What they say[edit]
“FreeMind is a premier free mind-mapping software written in Java. The recent development has hopefully turned it into high productivity tool. We are proud that the operation and navigation of FreeMind is faster than that of MindManager because of one-click fold / unfold and follow link operations.”
Observations[edit]
In appearance this is a healthy competitor to Mind Manager, though seems a lot slower.
I found this URL: ‘this little ruby script turns your boring mind-map into something colorful’ http://blog.xebia.com/2007/03/31/color-up-your-mind-map/
Lots of random colors may not be that useful for identifying areas of the mind map, but you can use it if you just want to brighten things up.
