Observations

MindMaple is a good-looking lines-and-boxes style mindmapper with on-line sharing via Google Drive.

There are Lite, Pro and iPad editions, with the Lite version being free and a capable mapper. When I checked in July 2018, the iOS version had disappeared (I have it on iPad), but their site says “iOS (Coming Soon)”.

Nodes can be laid out as you wish, or you can leave it to lay out automatically. It has good node-numbering options if you need that. The map background has options for color, images, textures and gradients.

Topics have many options for attachments, notes and comments, and project management attributes, like start and end dates, priority, amount complete, duration and resources.

Pro offers advanced MS Office export, password protection of files and export to PDF. It also has more map themes, clip art and backgrounds (with a promise of more to come). Lite has four themes and six templates.

MindMaple can import MindManager and FreeMind maps.

The Windows desktop version can export to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, a web page, images (in 5 formats) and text, plus PDF for Pro. It cannot export project data to MS Project and the like.

It has a sharing capability using Google Drive (in beta when I last looked).
