What they say[edit]

“The SemNet software is a general purpose knowledge mapping tool that allows individuals to organize ideas about any topic in the form of a network of concepts linked by named relations. The software is simple to use and is ideal for personal or social knowledge construction and elaboration, as well as for creating resource and reference materials offering easy, rapid access from multiple perspectives. SemNet creates a hypertext environment in which ideas can be elaborated with pictures, movies, text, charts, sounds, etc. In addition, SemNet provides a continuously updated quantitative analysis of the knowledge structure being created.

People can create nets of any size (theoretically up to 32,000 instances). They can name as many different ideas and links between them as they wish. Individual nets can be merged together, data can be imported from or exported to other applications, and ideas can be elaborated in the form of icons, pictures, text, and synonyms.”
