Topicscape can import to folders and files, specific types of text files describing structure, and files (mainly XML) produced by other products.

There is also an important note on file names and paths when exporting to folders.

Export to structured text, export to folders and files, and export to FreeMind all allow a 'round-trip' that support later re-import if required. For example, you may want to use a text editor to quickly amend all occurrences of a phrase in a structured text file, and then rebuild a modified Topicscape from it.
