Loose associations
How to make Loose associations between existing topics
"I can't see how to do this. All that it says in the Help is what a loose association between topics looks like."
There are two cases for Loose Associations:
- 1. Both simultaneously available somewhere in the same 'Scape
In this case, click and hold on topic A, drag the green dot to topic B and drop it. A menu will pop up, and you can select "A to be Loosely-associated with B". If B is out of the window, but is present nevertheless, dragging the green dot to the edge of the window and the view will swing in that direction, so you can still do this.
- 2. Not visible simultaneously - probably the more common case
Assuming you can see topic A but not B, key in the name for topic B (search panel pops up automatically). In the Hit List on the left of the 'Scape, click and hold on topic B's entry, drag the green dot to the topic cone for A. A menu will pop up, and you can select "B to be Loosely-associated with A".
How to break Loose associations
This can be done by entering one of the Topic Centers, right-clicking on the topic to be dissociated and choosing "Delete loose associtation with this topic" from the popup menu.
