How can I print a Topicscape?

We don't have a direct way of printing a Topicscape because printing Topicscapes as they look on screen, whether in the 2D or 3D views, would most often not be very useful. Keep in mind that in Topicscape you can quickly zoom in on areas to read the text on small cones or rectangles, and rapidly fly to the outer extremities of a map. Obviously this is not an option with a printed image.

But we are aware of the need to extract value by having an off-line form of a Topicscape for review. 3D Topicscape Pro has several export functions to help with this, including indented text (for reading), outline-numbered HTML text with hyperlinks for viewing in a browser (all files accessible as hyperlinks) and OPML text, also for viewing in a browser but with collapsible individual branches (again, all files accessible as hyperlinks).

Hyperlinks are also used to simulate Topicscape's multiple parent function and loose associations which otherwise can't be expressed in a strict tree or outline hierarchy. These allow the reader to jump around the document.

You can also right-click a specific topic and choose "Export Topic and all descendants..." and a dialog box will appear that lets you choose the type of export, including text, HTML, OPML and folders. So that lets you export the branch of a tree.

If you had a full-screen window, the Print Screen key would give you a kind of print capability and you could display the image saved to the clipboard to graphics software to print it out, but that would generally only show part of the Topicscape.
