Why does Topicscape Search force everything into lower case?

Topicscape does not distinguish between capital and lower case letters. It forces whatever is typed in the Advanced Search box to lower case to remind users of that. So you will see "ieee" if you type "IEEE"?

How can I find all the MS Excel files in my Topicscape?

1. First, type an '*'. This will bring up the Advanced Search panel, with * in the search string.
2. Check "These file types" and click on the drop-down arrow to the right of "(all file types)".
3. Scroll down the list if necessary and click on the xls checkbox. This will automatically uncheck the topic name checkbox, as you have elected to search for occurrences not topics.
4. Press Enter.
